Fermi Cycle-2 Guest Investigator proposals are due on March 6, 2009. Click here for proposal preparation and submission details. In support of proposal preparation activities, a LAT bright source list, and an initial release of the Fermi science analysis tools will be made available from this web site in early February.

NASA'S Fermi Telescope Unveils a Dozen New Pulsars

NASA's Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope has discovered 12 new gamma-ray-only pulsars and has detected gamma-ray pulses from 18 others. The finds are transforming our understanding of how these stellar cinders work.

Fermi In The News

Researchers December 8 described the first data collected from NASA's new orbiting observatory, the Fermi Gamma Ray Telescope, during the Texas Symposium on Relativistic Astrophysics, held in Vancouver this year. Peter Michelson of Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif., shared the above map, which shows newly identified pulsars.

The Fermi Science Support Center (FSSC) runs the guest investigator program, creates and maintains the mission time line, provides analysis tools for the scientific community, and archives and serves the Fermi data. This web site is the portal to Fermi for all guest investigators.

Look into the "Resources" section for finding schedules, publications, useful links etc. The "Proposals" section is where you will be able to find the relevant information and tools to prepare and submit proposals for guest investigator projects. At "Data" you will be able to access the Fermi databases and find the software to analyse them. Address all questions and requests to the helpdesk in "Help".
