What is NAIS?

The NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) is a World-Wide Web (WWW) service, from which industry has immediate access to current acquisition information over the Internet. Users may subscribe to receive email notifications on acquisitions of interest. NAIS is a feeder system for Federal E-Gov Systems like the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO). NAIS provides industry links to reference information such as Regulations, Clauses, Provisions, Handbooks and Guidance Documents. NAIS also provides industry a central location to find each NASA field Center's Procurement home page. Additionally, NAIS provides NASA Procurement professionals with a suite of procurement tools for internal use.

What are the minimum software and system requirements to view and utilize the NAIS features?

You must utilize Internet browsers at their latest version level. The minimum video resolution should be 800x600 at 256 colors or larger. Any older versions of Internet browsers or lower video resolutions can produce unpredictable results and are 'not' supported. The solicitation documents available on NAIS are in common MS-Office formats that can be downloaded and used in most word processing applications to build your proposals. In case you have trouble viewing documents downloaded from the NAIS, we link to several helper applications.

What do I get from NAIS?

Synopses, solicitations, award notices, acquisition forecasts, regulations, forms, and small business assistance. All NASA synopses and all competitive solicitations over $25,000 are posted on the Internet. Our E-Mail Notification Service allows you to register to receive announcements of synopses, solicitations, and other documents as they are posted to NAIS.

Where can I find NASA and other federal acquisitions on the Internet?

For competitive NASA acquisitions over $25,000 go to the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS). For other NASA acquisitions, go to Business Opportunities with NASA. Other federal acquisitions can be found at FedBizOpps.

Many federal agencies have their own acquisition sites, which are linked from the Federal Acquisition Jumpstation.

What is the Federal Acquisition Jumpstation?

The Federal Acquisition Jumpstation provides "hotlinks" to all federal procurement information on the Internet. From this Internet site you can link to departments and agencies throughout the government to retrieve acquisition forecasts, announcements, solicitations, how-to guides, small business assistance information, plus federal acquisition regulations. This site is continually updated to add more links as new acquisition sites spring up on the Internet. Today, the Federal Acquisition Jumpstation is recognized as the "front door" to all federal procurement sites on the Internet.

Why Internet and World-Wide Web?

With the Internet and World Wide Web, companies can retrieve electronic solicitations immediately upon release, avoiding several days of document reproduction and mail time.

How can I be put on NASA's bidders lists?

It is not necessary to be on any NASA bidders list to download any acquisitions from the NAIS. However, you can subscribe to receive email notification on acquisitions of interest. Register for email notification at the Email Notification System page. How do I know what classification to select when subscribing to the NAIS E-mail Notification Service?

Subscribers do indeed receive post-award notices.

Why can't I delete or change my subscription on the Email Notification Service?

Several reasons for this problem are listed on the Email Notification Service help file. If you continue to experience problems, please contact NAIS Technical Support.

How do I edit my registration for the E-mail Notification Service?

To change your subscription, see instructions at the Email Notification Service help file.

Why are old or outdated acquisitions still on-line among the current acquisitions?

We take efforts to remove old or outdated acquisitions from our servers. For example, the NAIS automatically notifies the responsible procurement staff when solicitations expire. However, there are circumstances that warrant keeping expired solicitations online, e.g., to serve as background for follow-on acquisitions.

How can I get specific contract and grant information?

Summary-level data can be found via the NASA Procurement Data View on-line query. Additional information may be requested through the appropriate Freedom of Information Office.

Where can I find federal regulations relating to NASA procurements?
