Defending the nation against the horror of a chemical or biological attack requires vigilance on numerous fronts, from understanding how an attack could occur, to building defense systems, to responding quickly to mitigate possible damage.
Sandia has been active in this area since the early 1990s in response to the deadly sarin attacks in the Japanese subway system. We’ve blended capabilities in basic chemistry and biology with our national security expertise to build a comprehensive program that addresses the entire threat spectrum.
