The Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation (GNF)
The Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation (GNF) in La Jolla, California, is well-known for its excellence in developing advanced technologies, ranging from cellular genomics and proteomics to combinatorial chemistry and structural biology.
The mission of GNF is to use these technologies to identify new biological processes and understand the underlying mechanisms involved in human disease. These discoveries are being translated into human therapeutics by a preclinical drug discovery effort. GNF was founded in 1999 and currently employs more than 400 associates. In addition to its internal resources, the Institute is located near the Scripps Research Institute and other international researchers in southern California.
