Capacity-Building Studies
and Tools
NEW!
Findings from a Retrospective Survey of Faith-Based and
Community Organizations (with
corresponding data charts)
A major component of the Compassion Capital Fund (CCF) program
is the Demonstration Program. The CCF Demonstration Program
funds intermediary organizations that serve as a bridge
between the federal government and faith-based and community
organizations (FBCOs). All CCF funded intermediary organizations
provide grassroots FBCOs with at least three types of capacity
building assistance: training, technical assistance, and
subawards. The Administration for Children & Families (ACF)
conducted a retrospective survey of a sample of FBCOs that
received support from intermediaries funded during the 2002
CCF grant cycle. The purpose of this study was to provide
some preliminary insight into the extent to which FBCOs
have succeeded in utilizing CCF resources to enhance their
organizational and service delivery capacity.

Promising
Practices for Improving the Capacity of Faith- and Community-Based
Organizations
This report documents the range of services that intermediaries
provide to their constituent organizations, and highlights
those that constitute promising practices. The report defines
as promising practices those efforts undertaken by the intermediaries
that show potential for producing successful outcomes-they
improve the organizational capacity of faith-based and community
organizations, are broadly used and accepted (although not
universally), and have the potential for replication among
other organizations. Click here
