Subject:	big job charge increase effective Sept 1

Dear SP users, Effective Wednesday, September 1, Seaborg jobs run on 512 or more processors and submitted to the "regular" class will be discounted and charged 75% of the regular charge. This is a change from the 50% discount that has been in effect since June 1. If the discount rate is changed (or if the discount is removed) a week's notice will be given. Also effective September 1 is a change in queuing policies on Seaborg: jobs requesting 128+ nodes will have the same scheduling priority as jobs requesting between 32 and 127 nodes. Users who have not yet scaled to 512 processors are encouraged to do so. You may request consulting assistance for this: consult_at_nersc_dot_gov.
