FDA Commissioner Dockets Management Branch (HFA 305) Food and Drug Administration 5630 Fisher's Lane, rm. 1061 Rockville, MD 20852 RE: Docket No. 00N-1396, and 00D-1598 Dear FDA, Genetic engineering of food is an aberration. The public has a right to know if their food is GE, and mandatory (not voluntary)labeling of GE foods must be followed. Furthermore, how do we know these foods are truly healthy for the consumer? Allergies and weird reactions may result in GE food consumption, and without the proper information supplies to the consumer, these companies will get away with causing harm. Not to mention what harm may be done to the ecosystem as a result of tinkering with agriculture. Do not let it happen! People come first, not the corporations who push "Franken-foods" for profit. Listen up, and be sensible. Sincerely, Richard L.
