LABELING is absolutely necessary. Also, it only seems proper that the FDA require mandatory pre-market comprehensive environmental review. Unlike conventional pollutants, where a given amount of pollutantcauses a limited amount of damage, a small number of mutant genes could have a population explosion and reproduce forever, causing unlimited and irreparable damage. Also, the FDA should be requiring pre-market health safety testing. Look how long it has taken for the dangers of aspertame to become know and this when the FDA KNEW in advance that it was dangerous. I know the government can't protect us from everything, but it should keep us informed so we can protect ourselves. Jessica Schenfelt 900 South 16th Street Lafayette, IN 47905 765-742-0872
