I believe the the FDA must require mandatory pre-market long-term health testing to assure the public and consumers that we are not creating long term self-replicating pathogens released in our environment irrevocably. What kind of asinine cozyness allows industries to sell genetically modified foods without labeling and pre-market study? Only a very corrupt system, which should be modified itself more than any of the products it purports to regulate. Come on, FDA. Stop being a tool of careless industry, and begin acting like the consumer protection agency you are chartered to be. PLEASE save us of from the likes of these shortsighted money-hungry corporations vying to release genetically altered items with such long-term implications to us as a species. USE YOUR HEADS, PLEASE. USE THEM TO THINK, PLEASE. USE THEM TO THINK LONG-TERM, PLEASE. Thank you Mark Nissley Hinton VA
