They must be tested (long term) first, then labeled that they are GE foods so consumers can choose to buy them or not depending on their level of confidence in the GE foods. At present, when I purchase foods I have no idea if they are genetically altered and do not know if I am harming my health by eating them. At present, I am eliminating corn, beef and dairy products from my diet for the express reason that I know they are probably altered and I do not want to affect my health negatively. I pity mothers of small children who either do not know about GE foods or are not sure which ones are altered. They (and I ) cannot selectively choose to eat safely until you REQUIRE labeling of such foods. Obviously, LONG TERM TESTING should be required before approving ANY GE FOOD sales to the public. Please: LABEL NOW! Thank You, S.M. Vail
