Subject: downed animals

dear people ,
i strongly urge you to support petition 98P-0151/CPI. i feel very strongly 
that animals that are in too poor of a condition to stand ("downed animals") 
should be humanely killed  - adding them to our food chain makes no sense for 
health reasons.  in addition to the fact that they may carry disease, taking 
a downed animal to slaughter is very cruel and painful for the animal itself- 
it obviously cannot walk, so it is chained and dragged. i cannot imagine 
doing that to a living creature. can you?
