Informatics & Decision Sciences

The Informatics and Decision Sciences Department develops new algorithms and tools in machine learning, matrix and tensor methods, information retrieval, data mining, numerical optimization, and other related areas.

Our research results are published in leading technical journals and conferences, and much of our software is freely available to the research community. We also engineer decision support applications incorporating these technologies as well as agent-based simulation and web-based information sharing protocols for a broad variety of customers.

Our work impacts a wide variety of applications in national security, engineering, computational biology, systems studies, and other areas.
