Join historian and author C.R. Gibbs and learn how the oldest, most widespread, and most important celebration of African American history and culture began. In addition, Gibbs offers intriguing insights into the seldom discussed life and work of Dr. Woodson and his continuing battle for equality on behalf of himself and others in Jim Crow-era Washington, D.C.
