Sandia's Space Reentry Vehicle Instrumentation Program

We build and field instrumentation and telemetry for use on space reentry vehicles for both DOE and DoD programs. These systems measure the operation of the reentry vehicle subsystems as well as the dynamic performance and environmental parameters such as temperatures.

This work consists of instrumenting very light weight (a few kilograms) objects to heavy weight (100's of kilograms) objects.

We design, build, test, and field instrumentation and telemetry systems and also recover the data from these systems with data being our final product. The systems are based on commercial components when available and Sandia designed components as needed. The complete implementation time of one of these systems from concept to return of data is from a few months to a couple of years.

We have fielded over 60 rocket payloads in the last 30 years for the DoD and in DOE exploratory systems work. Many of the current payloads have five to ten instrumented flight objects.
