Bassi firmware upgrade completed; 128 MB/node less memory available |

Dear Bassi users,
Bassi is available and running jobs following Wednesday's firmware
upgrade. The new firmware
uses 128 MB more memory per node. This means that each node has 128 MB
less memory
available for running your code.
The ConsumableMemory resource has been adjusted accordingly. If your
LoadLeveler script
explicitly sets a value for ConsumableMemory, please note the following
change:
Total node ConsumableMemory: 27032 MB (26.4 GB)
The value you should specify in your LoadLeveler script is
27032/task_per_node.
The default value is now 27032 MB/8 = 3379 MB. If you run with 8
tasks_per_node
you do not need to explicitly specify ConsumableMemory in your script.
Jobs that were queued before Wednesday did not run immediately after the
upgrade because
they had the wrong default value for ConsumableMemory. We are inserting
the correct value for all
queued jobs; you do not need to take any action to make them run.
Please see the following URL for more on the topic:

Regards,
Richard Gerber
