Dear NERSC Users,
On Thursday, June 10, 2004 Escher will be down from 14:00 to 18:00,
pacific time, to install OS upgrade IRIX 6.5.23. Currently we are
running IRIX 6.5.18f. IRIX 6.5.23, in addition to bug-fixes will include
several software enhancements e.g. IRIX standard execution
environment MIPSpro 7.4.1m ; Message Passing Toolkit 1.8, SGI
Scientific Library 1.4.1.3. Please note, NERSC default MIPSpro
compilers and compiler environment will remain at current
7.3.1.3m level.
With the implementation of IRIX 6.5.23, the tools acroread, xpsview
and showps will be replaced with the tools gsview and xpdf. The
wrappers for acroread and xpsview/showps will invoke the new
xpdf or gsview commands respectively.
