Startup awards are available for new projects that wish to investigate using NERSC resources, or who wish to port or develop new codes. A request for a Startup project account may be made at any time during the year, and decisions for Startup requests are made by NERSC within one to three weeks after applying. NERSC Analytics

The Analytics Program supports NERSC users by providing consulting and collaborative services to help users implement applications and strategies for data management, data analysis, data mining, visualization of data, and data exploration. Go

New Allocation Year Began January 13

Allocation Year 2008 (AY08) ended Monday, January 12, 2009. AY09 began at one minute after midnight Tuesday morning, January 13. [MORE]

HDF5 Workshop

A workshop for HDF5 users and developers will be held Jan 20-21 2009 at NERSC. There will be a day of information on HDF5, followed by a day of hands on HDF5 coding and tuning. [MORE]

Cosmic Data Analysis at NERSC

NERSC will be home to the U.S. Planck team's data analysis operations, adding to the dozen or so Cosmic Microwave Background experiments that use NERSC resources. [MORE]

2009 Awards

DOE has allocated 146.5 million Cray XT4-based hours to NERSC projects, and 14 million hours remain in reserves. On the HPSS side, 40 million Storage Resource Units have been allocated, and 10 million remain in reserve. [MORE]

Seven INCITE project have been awarded more than 17 million hours at NERSC. [MORE]
