Mission Statement

The Division of Federal-State Relations provides the highest standard of leadership, information, technical guidance and resource management to our customers: FDA, other federal agencies, state/local governments and regulatory associations. We represent the Agency and serve as a liaison for our external and internal customers.

We continuously strive to:

•Be creative, flexible and open to new ideas, providing cost effective and innovative solutions in support of DFSR, ORA and the Agency.

•Maintain the highest levels of integrity in providing the most efficient, timely and accurate information on Agency policies and procedures that impact our customers.

•Present an atmosphere of cooperation, courtesy, respect and professionalism. Serve as a conduit for our customers to exchange information.

•Offer a forum for our customers to provide input to the Agency's decision making process.

•Develop information and educational programs to support FDA's Public Affairs Specialists and their managers.

•Be a responsive liaison for the Agency with national associations of FDA's counterpart state and local regulatory officials. (8/16/96)
