Continuing Education

The School Nutrition Association offers a rich array of continuing education programs for SNA members and the entire school nutrition community. Whether you're just beginning your career in school nutrition or seeking to deepen your understanding of the intricacies of school feeding programs, SNA has the resources you need to get started.

Professional Development

The creation and marketing of high-quality professional development programs require the support of a number of partners including vendors, School Nutrition Association members, nonprofits, professional experts and school districts. One of school nutrition’s greatest professional growth allies is the School Nutrition Foundation.

SNF programs are developed to meet specific training needs for SNA members and to support the SNA certification and credentialing programs. Current professional development programs are listed below. See Related Links for more information on the Foundation and the programs it.

District Development

Keys to Excellence is a district development tool, which allows Directors to assess their programs using validated standards, determine strengths and weaknesses, and develop an action plan for program improvement.

Internships

In fall 2008 the SNA School Nutrition Specialist Internship Program was launched. Developed by SNA's Research Committee and Association staff, the school nutrition-dedicated internship program provides college level students with the training and opportunities necessary to pursue a top-level career in the dynamic school nutrition field.
