Staffs of other museums, libraries, and historical organizations in Wyoming will be invited to participate. Center for Puppetry Arts, Atlanta, GAOutright: $5,000
A condition survey of 250 puppets and related performing objects from around the world. From its collection the center has selected 25 puppets from Africa, 70 from Europe, and 155 from North and South America as representative of the full range of countries, time periods, and media. These items were used in various cultural contexts: rituals and religious functions, social commentary, cultural narratives, and childhood education.

Consultation with a conservator in order to prepare an institutional plan for conservation policies and procedures and to train staff in its implementation. The center maintains a collection of wooden small boats, boat models, boat plans, books and periodicals, photos, and archival materials on the maritime history of the Pacific Northwest.

Hiring preservation consultants to conduct a preservation assessment of the society's textile collections. The clothing and clothing accessories include dresses, greatcoats, bonnets, petticoats, shoes, shirts, bibs, aprons, shawls, suspenders, and caps. The City of Methuen's archive of public records includes town meeting proceedings; tax lists; police reports; voter registrars; birth, death and marriage records; assessor's records; treasurer's records; deeds; annual reports; resolutions; atlases; school site plans; and a set of the Massachusetts Acts and Resolves dating from the town's inception in 1726 through the early twentieth century.
College of Southern Maryland, La Plata, La Plata, MD Outright: $5,000
The purchase of archival supplies, improvements in lighting, and training for archives staff on proper collection care. The collection documents the history and culture of southern Maryland and includes personal papers, records of businesses and organizations, historic sites, genealogical research files, photographs, maps, artwork, oral histories, newspapers, and ephemera. The archive holds approximately 400 rare books, 6,900 photographs and slides, 820 audiovisual items, and 550 linear feet of manuscripts and documents.
Delaware Public Archives and Delaware Division of Libraries, Dover, DE Outright: $2,500
The creation of a state-wide consortium for disaster preparedness and response. A preservation consultant would meet with representatives of 78 small and mid-sized cultural institutions in Delaware for workshop training and planning sessions, to be followed by the consultant's report with recommendations for implementation by the group. Collections held by these institutions include local historical records from many small towns in the state, the records of the oldest Methodist church in the nation, and Civil War records on Fort Delaware, a military prison. Subjects represented indepth include African American life and culture in Delaware, agriculture, the railroads, and the milling and carriage-making industries. Object collections include artwork, seafaring artifacts, and Native American materials.

Its holdings include furniture, paintings, decorative objects, household items, and personal furnishings of the Hawaiian royal family, who lived there from the time it was built in 1882 until the overthrow of the monarchy in 1893.

The collections document all facets of Jewish life, with an emphasis on the Lubavitch Chasidic tradition. The consultant's report would include recommendations for preservation, collection management, archival storage equipment and related supplies, and a plan to address the organization's current and future needs.
