The Vision Care Plan (VCP) is the company-paid vision plan. The VCP is a basic benefit designed to encourage regular eye examinations, assist with the expenses for needed eyeglass frames and corrective lenses, and help offset the cost of additional eyewear purchases through a network provider. Currently, the Vision Care Plan is administered by Davis Vision.
Plan Changes Effective January 1, 2009
Eligibility for Vision Care Plan
- Represented and non-represented regular employees and their eligible Class I dependents
- Represented and non-represented limited term employees and their eligible Class I dependents
- Full-time, year-round faculty sabbatical employees and their eligible Class I dependents
- Post-doctoral employees and their Class I dependents
Highlights
Under the vision plan, you and your enrolled dependents are eligible for (after applicable co-pay):
- One refractive eye exam every 12 months (exam benefit is not available to Kaiser HMO Plan members)*
- One pair of lenses (contacts or eyeglass) every 12 months
- One pair of frames every 24 months
*Employees enrolled in the Kaiser HMO Plan are required to obtain the exam through Kaiser Permanente or pay for the exam out of pocket.
Helpful Tip
If you receive services from an in-network provider, the in-network provider will process all claims for you.
