The donation – proceeds from a benefit concert played by Sinise’s Lt. Dan Band last year – will be used to build a Fisher House for families of injured servicemembers being treated at Hines VA Hospital. 05/01/07 - Wounded Heroes Receive Special Salute Lt. Governor Pat Quinn presided at a ceremony marking May 1, 2007 as the first annual Silver Star Banner Day in Illinois. Five wounded Illinois servicemembers will receive the Silver Star Banner in recognition of their sacrifice in service to our country.
