Crapo Praises Alito After Personal Visit

Washington, DC –Following a meeting with Supreme Court nominee Judge Samuel Alito, Idaho Senator Mike Crapo issued the following statement:

“Today, I had a chance to personally meet with Judge Alito and I am assured he has the knowledge and experience that will qualify him to be an excellent Supreme Court Justice,” Crapo said. “Judge Alito has a long and distinguished history of judicial, government, and private legal experience. Through these meetings with me and my Senate colleagues, as well as his Judiciary Committee confirmation hearings in January, I expect Judge Alito will prove to the American people that he will faithfully interpret the Constitution and the laws of our country. I’m looking forward to voting on his confirmation when it comes to the Senate floor.”

The confirmation hearings for Judge Alito’s nomination are scheduled to begin January 9th, with a full Senate vote tentatively slated for January 20th.
