Prevention and Safety

The Idaho Department of Commerce in conjunction with the State Bureau of Homeland Security is investigating the impact that this fire season has had on business in Idaho.  The information gathered will be provided to the U.S. Small Business Administration for them to asses whether or not to provide disaster assistance to businesses in the affected counties.

In order to reach as many businesses as possible, we need your help. The SBA has prepared a worksheet, SBA – Economic Injury Worksheet, which should be completed by any businesses that may be eligible for assistance.  Completed worksheets may be emailed to rodney.ashby@community.idaho.gov or jerry.miller@community.idaho.gov or faxed to (208) 334-2631.

The Department of Commerce will then send all applications to the regional SBA office in Sacramento with a recommendation that the County be declared eligible for the SBA EIDL (Economic Injury Disaster Loan) Program. If your county receives this EIDL Designation, SBA will send representatives to the state to assist businesses with their business loan application.  If you have questions, please call Bob Ford in my Boise Office at (208) 334-1776.
