The Bureau of Reclamation is seeking a mid-career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on their expertise as an Electrical/Electronics Engineer.  The major duties of this position are to implement electrical and electronic engineering principles and theory to ensure the operation and maintenance of existing Reclamation facilities in a safe, effective, and environmentally responsible manner.

This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled by either of the following occupations, depending upon the qualifications of the selected candidates:

-Electrical Engineer, GS-0850 9/11/12

-Electronics Engineer, GS-0855, 9/11/12

This position is located at the Flatiron Reservoir which is 12 miles southwest of Loveland, Colorado (pop. 60,000).  Loveland is located 50 miles north of Denver and 10 miles south of Fort Collins.  There is adequate shopping in the immediate area, schools (including two universities within 15 miles), churches of many denominations, a modern hospital, recreational facilities, golf courses, and many clubs and organizations.  Government housing is not available, but housing is available for purchase or rent.

Who Are We?

Reclamation's Great Plains Region (Region) includes nine states, stretching from the vast wheat fields of northern Montana and North Dakota to the bayous and marshes of the Texas Gulf Coast.  The Region is home to the snow-covered peaks of the Rocky Mountains and the grasslands and prairies of the Missouri River.

In the Region there are 80 Reclamation reservoirs, 81 recreation areas associated with the reservoirs, 21 power plants and 44 generating units.  The projects provide drinking water for more than 3 million people and can generate up to 992 megawatts of power, which is enough to power approximately 173,000 homes.  For further information about the Bureau of Reclamation's Great Plains Region visit:  www.usbr.gov/gp.
