NH Authors’ Series Features Sy Montgomery, January 25

On Sunday, January 25 at 2pm, join humorist Rebecca Rule when she interviews Sy Montgomery, author of numerous children’s books. Her latest book, for adults, takes her closer to home in rural NH. The Good Good Pig: The Extraordinary Life of Christopher Hogwood became a national bestseller in 2006.

The event will be held in the Courtyard Reading Room on Level 5 in Dimond Library. It is sponsored by the Friends of the UNH Library.

Sy Montgomery has been called “part Indiana Jones and part Emily Dickinson.” Montgomery’s travels have taken her around the globe to remote places where she researches her books, films and articles. Her first children’s book, The Snake Scientist, won a dozen national awards. Montgomery is also a widely-known lecturer on conservation topics.

In the style of Bravo’s Inside the Actors Studio, Rule serves as host and interviewer for The New Hampshire Authors’ Series from Dimond Library at the University of New Hampshire. Three times a year The Authors’ Series features an author who lives, summers, teaches or was born in New Hampshire.

Interviews are conducted in front of a live audience (with an opportunity for questions from the audience) and are recorded by New Hampshire Public Television for future broadcast.

Light refreshments will be served after the interview and the authors will be available to sign their books.

The program is free and open to the public, but seating is limited. Please register online or call 862-1541.

This presentation is funded by the Drs. Lorus J. and Margery Milne Endowed Lecture Series on Literature and Environment
