WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today Congressman David Wu released the following statement after learning that the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) rejected requests from Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski and others to grant a rehearing for the proposed Bradwood Landing liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility:
“I am extremely disappointed, but not surprised, that FERC continues to dismiss the needs of Oregonians by refusing to grant a rehearing for Bradwood Landing,” said Congressman Wu. “This is a parting shot from Bush’s FERC, which has consistently ignored the concerns of the state and the needs of local communities. I am counting on the Obama administration to bring some much-needed change to FERC’s willingness to fully consider the impact that a LNG terminal would have on the environment, local communities, industry, and public safety.”
