Adopt-A-Doc?

Be part of accelerating scientific discovery!

Help make important research available online by adopting a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) technical report (see Adopt-A-Doc? frequently asked questions).

When you search for important science information in your area of interest at the OSTI Energy Citations Database, you can choose to sponsor ($60, approximately the same cost for ordering hard copy) the digitization of any adoptable technical report. Samples of documents available for digitization (those that are still only available in hard copy or microfiche) are listed in the table below.

Why Adopt?

There are more than 300,000 DOE technical reports in need of digitization – in fact, most DOE technical reports from the 1940s to 1991 are still only available in hard copy or microfiche. This means that important research is not easily accessible by researchers and the public.

You can help speed the discovery process, by sponsoring the digitization of documents, thus ensuring important research is available online.

Adopt-A-Doc? is just one way OSTI is working (see Key Resources) to increase the availability of important research.

How to Adopt

Request to adopt a document via phone (865) 576-5699; email adoptadoc@osti.gov, or web comment form on the Energy Citations Database.
