ASA unveils new web site

ASA unveils new web siteThe American Statistical Association is pleased to announce the availability of its newly redesigned web site. The goal of the redesign was to create a clean, contemporary look, and say more with fewer words. We also sought to improve the way in which we presented information to internal (volunteers, officers, staff) and external (general membership, media, the public) audiences.


David Blackwell to be Honored

David Blackwell, recently named "greatest black mathematician and statistician," will be honored Dec. 30 by the African and African-American Diaspora Club of the University of California, Stanford University, Cal Tech, and the University of Southern California. Blackwell is professor emeritus of statistics at the University of California, Berkeley. Read more about his extraordinary career.

ASA Travel Grants to Durban, South Africa for the 57th Session of ISI

The American Statistical Association (ASA) has received funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to support travel to Durban, South Africa for the August 16 – 22, 2009 meeting of the International Statistical Institute (ISI).
