FDA's Web Site Awards

The FDA Web site received a “Silver” Award in the Fall/Winter 2004 World Wide Web Health Awards competition. The award cited FDA in the class Health Promotion/Disease & Injury Prevention Information.

The DietChannel.com gave the FDA Web site its “Best of the Web” Award. The award cited FDA's goal of protecting public health by maintaining food safety. The citation stated that “You can’t beat the reliability and knowledgeable information on this site.”

The FDA Web site received an “Award of Excellence” in 2004 from the National Association of Government Communicators.

The FDA Web site received a “Bronze” Award in the Fall/Winter 2005 World Wide Web Health Awards competition. The award cited FDA in the class Health Promotion/Disease & Injury Prevention Information.

USA Today.com named FDA's Web site one of its “Hot Sites.” It praised the FDA site as “a virtual portal to a host of other health-related info–from LASIK surgery to choking risks.”

FDA’s Web site was rated highest of all federal sites in a 2001 Brown University study of government Web sites. The study evaluated whether needed information was available and if average citizens could easily find it.

The FDA Web site was designated a "cool site" by AgView Internet search service, one of the most popular agricultural search engines on the Web today.

The FDA Web site has been awarded the Six Senses Seal of Approval from the Echo Strategies Group, a healthcare marketing and planning group. The seal is given to healthcare and medical Web sites that have demonstrated exceptional design and content.

The Emergency Nursing World Web site awarded the FDA Web site its “Cool Web-Find” award for “exceptional quality of presentation using the Web medium, value and usefulness to the practice of Emergency Nursing and of associated emergency health professionals.”

FDA’s MedWatch Site received the Dow Jones Business Directory “Select Site” award and was cited as a “high-quality, business Web site” that provides reliable information to Internet users.

The FDA Web site was selected for inclusion in SelectSurf’s Internet guide to best sites. This recognition is given only to sites meeting SelectSurf's criteria for content, usefulness, presentation, ease of use, and originality.

ParenthoodWeb has selected the FDA Web site as one of the best parenting sites on the Web. The site was judged by a panel of parent reviewers to be valuable to parents and to exhibit exceptional quality.

The FDA Web site was awarded the WebPilot Original Link Recognition Medal, an honor bestowed by WebPilot on sites it considers “useful, fun, exciting, great looking, or just plain good to know about.”

The FDA Web site was named a “Top Rated Site on MedExplorer.” Sites were chosen based on usefulness, content, design, speed, and targeted audience.
