Using our online application service is a convenient way to apply for undergraduate admission to WVU.

If you do not wish to apply online, you may also download an admissions application and submit your material by mail. Check our admissions requirements for additional information about the application process.

Applying to WVU requires a nonrefundable application fee of $25 for West Virginia residents, $45 for out-of-state students, and $50 for international students.

Once your application is complete, the Admissions staff will review your file to determine if you are eligible for admission. Review of applications for fall entry will begin in late September of the previous year. You can return to this site to check the status of your application or text APPSTATUS to 41411.

Please note that admission to Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center programs requires a separate application process.

WVU has a rolling admissions policy which means we do not have a specific deadline by which you must apply.  The application review period for the fall semester begins September 15.  Applicants are considered for and informed of admission on a first-come, first-served basis.  We continue to admit students until the freshman class is full.  Students who apply for the fall semester and submit all necessary admission materials by January 1, should receive our admission decision by February 15.  In order to be eligible for scholarships from WVU, you must be admitted by February 1.
