Farm Safety

griffith playing near barnFarm work can often times be dangerous. Farm machinery is not subject to federal safety requirements or recalls and is manufactured only under voluntary standards set by the American Society of Agricultural Engineers. Farmers need to make their voice heard when the time comes to implement safety regulations.

While at work on the farm, families should be sure to exercise reasonable care and look out for their safety. NFU recommends that farmers take advantage of safety training opportunities, keep adequate records of transportation, use and storage of pesticides/fertilizers, and exercise caution and care to promote safety. endcap.gif
