As used on this Web site, incentive pay (e.g., flight pay, submarine pay, hazardous duty pay) and special pay (e.g., medical and dental officer pay, hardship duty pay, career sea pay) have the meanings set forth in chapter 5 of title 37, United States Code. Bonus pay, which is generally a type of special pay, is addressed separately for election purposes because different TSP rules apply to it. Contact your service regarding what is or is not considered incentive or special pay.
