Malonate Broth

Yeast extract 1 g
(NH4)2SO4 2 g
K2HPO4 0.6 g
KH2PO4 0.4 g
NaCl 2 g
Sodium malonate 3 g
Glucose 0.25 g
Bromthymol blue 0.025 g
Distilled water 1 liter

 

 

 

Dissolve by heating, if necessary. Dispense 3 ml portions into 13 x 100 mm test tubes. Autoclave 15 min at 121°C. Final pH, 6.7 ± 0.2.
