A Transportation Technology Transfer Symposium will be held July 29 to Aug. 2, 2001 in St. Petersburg, Fla. The objective of this symposium is to bring together major transportation technology transfer practitioners worldwide to exchange advances and current technology transfer practices and techniques and, in doing so, to improve their efficiency.
This symposium is being held in conjunction with other world organizations' meetings, including the U.S. Local Technical Assistance Program's annual meeting. Sponsoring organizations will hold simultaneous meetings that are open to all participants. The symposium presents a unique opportunity for participants to interact with colleagues and counterparts from around the world to learn, share, and benefit.
The symposium is sponsored by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), the Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP), the World Road Association (PIARC), the Transportation Research Board (TRB), the Pan American Institute of Highways (PIH), the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

NHI Course Revised
Soils and Foundations Workshop (#132012) has been completely revised and updated. This course is geared toward the practicing engineer, who routinely deals with soil and foundation problems but has little theoretical background in soil mechanics or foundation engineering. This course takes a project-oriented approach in which the soils input to a fictitious bridge project are followed from conception to completion.
