Main street businesses are an important segment of the rural community and are responsible for generating many new jobs. These businesses should be protected and given a fair opportunity to compete. NFU encourages development of small businesses through state allocated industrial development bonds and strongly supports continuation of the Small Business Administration (SBA), which provides small-business loans to credit-worthy applicants.
