Our greatest wealth lies in an educated and informed society.
Over 50 percent of all school districts in the United States are rural in nature and educate roughly 30 percent of the nation’s children. The rural students and teachers in these education systems have unique needs and face many challenges in meeting No Child Left Behind standards. The federal government should take these needs into account and fully fund rural school districts so they may rise to meet these high standards.
