Plant Nematology Laboratory
573-884-9118
This laboratory tests soil and plant samples qualitatively and quantitatively for the presence of plant parasitic nematodes. Recommendations are provided for management strategies to reduce the effect of nematodes on plant growth and yield.
Does your garden have root-knot nematode?
Root-knot nematodes are microscopic worms that can infect vegetable roots causing serious symptoms and producing galls or "knots" on the roots. The nematodes impede the flow of water and nutrients to the plant.
Magnified 100 times and stained to be visible, juvenile soybean cyst nematodes infect a soybean root. The juveniles will form feeding sites and rob nutrients from the plant.
Unexplained soybean yield losses?
SCN could be the culprit
