Showcasing College Research

Advances in Veterinary Medicine Day

April 10, 2008

Advances in Veterinary Medicine Day is designed to showcase the research and scholarship accomplishments of veterinary students, residents, graduate students and faculty in the college. It is a way for the college community to come together and learn about exciting research being carried out by colleagues. The Chair for 2008 is Dr. Rustin Moore, Chair of the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences.

Travel grants are awarded to the best student poster presentations in each of the five areas of study: immunology and infectious diseases, molecular and cellular biology, structure and function, clinical research, and epidemiology and applied research. The awards help students fund their travel to a national or international scientific meeting to present their research.

This year's keynote speaker is Dr. Natasha Olby, associate professor of neurology at North Carolina State University's College of Veterinary Medicine.  She will speak at the award ceremony from 12-2 pm in the Veterinary Hospital Auditorium, 601 Vernon L. Tharp St.  The public is welcome to attend.
