Description
This conference is oriented toward the equine practitioner and designed to provide a practical update on the diagnosis and treatment of the majority of abnormal conditions of the equine head. Due to the extremely positive comments from our equine conference held last February, a similar format of each set of lectures will be followed by laboratory demonstrations related to the lectures. Lecture topics include head trauma, nasal discharge, masses and tumors (of the sinuses, nasal cavity, and skin), diagnostic imaging of the skull and soft tissues, and neurological diseases affecting the head. Lectures will be followed by lab sessions and demonstrations involving the ophthalmologic examination, dentistry, upper airway endoscopy, skull radiography for the practitioner, neurologic examination of the head, and sinus/guttural pouch accessing and lavage. Dr. Mike Lowder from the University of Georgia is an entertaining speaker and world-renowned expert in equine dentistry and will share his expertise in this area both in lectures and in laboratories.
