Disaster Summary for FEMA-1398-DR, Mississippi Declaration Date: December 7, 2001 Incident Type: Severe Storms and Tornadoes Incident Period: November 24, 2001 through November 25, 2001 Counties Declared and Types of Assistance as of January 10, 2002: DeSoto, Hinds, Madison, Grenada, Lafayette, and Scott for Individual Assistance. (6) Benton, Marshall, Prentiss, and Tippah Counties for Public Assistance. (4) Bolivar, Coahoma, Humphreys, Panola, Quitman, Sunflower, Washington, Leake, Tallahatchie, Tate, and Tunica Counties for Individual and Public Assistance. (11) All counties within the State of Mississippi are eligible to apply for assistance under the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program.
