Rotavirus Regional Trends

Weekly laboratory test result data are collected on a voluntary basis. Because there is often a delay in reporting for some laboratories, data collection is less complete for the more recent weeks shown. Data from July 2006 through June 2007 are complete. In the United States, rotavirus infections typically occur during annual community outbreaks, during late fall, winter, and early spring. There may be variation in the timing of outbreaks between regions and between communities in the same region.
