Club Fitting

Who should play Tiger Woods' clubs?  Well Tiger of course, because they FIT him.  You should also play with clubs that fit you and now you can get fit using the same techniques that Tiger uses.  What is club fitting? Club fitting is adjusting clubs to your swing speed, height, arm length, hand size, swing shape and swing tempo. A good fitting measures all these parameters and then adjusts your clubs accordingly. Clubs can be adjusted for length, lie, shaft flex, shaft bend point, grip size, and swing weight.

Club fitting also means helping you choose club heads with the right forgiveness and ball flight characteristics to fit your particular abilities. The correct adjustments will make a club easier to hit and maximize distance for you. You can also select clubs that address a particular weakness in your game. Most golfers' games need one of three things...more consistency, distance or accuracy. Sometimes they need all three. Your golf clubs can be adjusted to help in any or all of these areas.

The professional staff at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex takes pride in their ability to use state-of-the-art techniques to fit golfers of all skill levels.  Head Professional Dan Ross and Assistant Professional Brent Wills are both proficient in fitting Nike golf equipment using the Nike 360 Mobile Fitting System.  The 360 Mobile Fitting System utilizes component shafts and heads, and the use of a Launch Monitor to properly fit every club in your bag from driver to wedge.  In addition to Nike, Dan also fits with Ping and has helped over 300 students play their best with Ping clubs over the last decade.  That, coupled with the ability to fit Callaway Golf equipment gives the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex the most comprehensive club fitting options in the area.

Just as important is our ability to check your current set of clubs and fine tune them to the correct specifications of your swing.  Assistant Professional Joe Kercheval is certified by the Mitchell Golf Schools for Club Fitting & Repair to work with you to check and adjust your clubs' loft and lie angles, along with re-shafting clubs and re-gripping services.

The fee for club fitting is $50.00 which you can apply towards your purchase of new clubs at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex.
