Academic Support

Purdue provides a variety of resources to help students succeed academically.

  • Academic Advisors — Advisors help students make informed choices as they develop their plans of study and pursue individual goals.

  • Academic Success Center — All students can take advantage of this center’s free services, including videos, handouts, workshops, and one-on-one support.

  • Math, Physics, and Chemistry Help Rooms — The College of Science staffs walk-in help rooms that are available to all Purdue students, free of charge. These rooms are open during regularly scheduled hours and are staffed by upper-class and graduate students who specialize in the respective subject areas.

  • Writing Lab — Purdue’s internationally recognized writing lab is an exceptional resource for Purdue students. Services include:

    • free one-on-one tutoring, workshops and and handouts to help students of all skill levels with their writing abilities;
    • tapes and software to assist students for whom English is a second language;
    • an an online writing lab with a variety of self-help resources; and
    • tutors who respond to specific e-mail queries.
  • Tutors — Tutors are available across academic disciplines. Some services are free, while others are available for a small charge.
