Careers and Internships

What They’re Doing (and Earning) Within Six Months of Graduation*

Purdue graduates enjoy a high degree of success as they transition from their undergraduate education to careers or graduate study. Within six months of graduation, 94% of Purdue’s May 2007 graduates were employed, continuing their education or had other career plans. Additionally, many reported very competitive starting salaries. View Salary Survey results.

Majority of Purdue Graduates are employed

Internships and
Co-ops

There are reasons why Purdue graduates succeed and one reason is internships and co-ops. Throughout their education, Purdue students gain on-the-job experience that does more than provide fodder for resumes. It helps them make professional connections while they learn more about careers and jobs.

Experiential Learning (Learn by Doing)

In some ways, Purdue University created the standard for experiential learning – namely, Engineering Projects in Community Service (EPICS). Now a program adopted by universities around the world, EPICS was the brainchild of Purdue faculty who recognized that learning goes beyond the classroom. Today, students from a wide variety of majors earn credit as they apply their education in support community projects. Learn more about EPICS.

Study Abroad

Other ways Purdue students learn by doing is by studying abroad. With programs in more than 50 countries, Purdue Study Abroad allows students to gain valuable international experiences. Learn more about Study Abroad.
