The 2008 S&T Partnership Conference provided various avenues to access Office of Naval Research leaders, program managers and business operations staff.
Sustaining the Edge

Putting the warfighter first has never been more important and the Office of Naval Research (ONR) is doing this by "serving the next generation warfighter today." The 2008 Science and Technology (S&T) Partnership Conference, 12-14 August 2008, focused on current research and target technology areas for investments needed to enable U.S. warfighters to sustain the edge.

This year’s format delivered exceptional opportunities to directly engage the decision-making minds of naval S&T leadership. Those who attended gained valuable insights about building the future naval force, sustaining combat readiness and architecting revolutionary technologies.

Key Topics:
Break Out and Brainstorm:
In large discussions, attendees heard from the researchers, scientists, engineers and program managers pushing the edge on naval technology – then, in small break-out sessions, they interacted with the technology program officers directly. Attendees engaged with leadership and conducted information-sharing that may lead to new paths for research and business opportunities with ONR.
