Gas stations are available outside the park area. All gas stations within 5 miles close at 9 pm. If you want to find a 24 hour gas station you will have to travel 30 miles west of the park.

The Appalachian Trail runs through Harpers Ferry. A short walk along the trail from the lower town to the C&O Canal will take you from West Virginia to Maryland in just a few minutes.
