Hunger in the Land of Plenty

Currently around 35 million Americans don’t have enough to eat. We look at why there is a problem of hunger in our land of plenty, and what can be done about it in a time of economic crisis. Joel Berg is executive director of the NYC Coalition Against Hunger and author of All You Can Eat.

The hit new play “Becky Shaw” tells the story of a newlywed couple who fixes up two romantically challenged friends. Gina Gionfriddo is the playwright, and actors Annie Parisse and Emily Bergl are two of its stars. It’s at Second Stage Theatre (307 W. 43rd St.) through March 15.
