  2. American Association of Young Caregivers: Teens (Copyright © AAYC) – It can be stressful trying to take care of not only yourself, but a parent or sibling as well.  If you are a caregiver for someone in your family, this web site can help you learn how to cope with the stress and the feelings you might have.
  3. Change Your Mind About Mental Health (Copyright © APA) – Most young people with mental health problems don't get any treatment for them. This brochure educates teens on what mental health is, where to get help, and how to change your attitude towards mental health.
  4. Adobe PDF document Connecting with Your Community (Copyright © AAP) (PDF - 194KB) – Connecting with your community is a way to make new friends, help others, and find people to help you in times when you are in need or feel lonely. This brochure explains other reasons why connecting with your community is important.
  5. Coping with Substance Abuse in your Family? – If you have a parent/guardian who drinks too much or uses drugs, you may feel angry and worried at the same time. Check out this site from the Children of Alcoholics Foundation for answers to common questions, such as "Does my parent really have a problem?" and "Did I do something wrong?"

  14. Tips for Youth from the National Runaway Switchboard – Are you thinking of running away? Although you may be dealing with a really tough problem, you don't have to run away to solve it. There are things you can do to feel better, other than running away. The National Runaway Switchboard can help you by phone or e-mail.
  15. Teen Depression (Copyright © HelpGuide.org) – This article discusses the symptoms, causes, effects, self-help, and treatment of depression in teens. It also contains information about suicide and suicide warning signs.
