Finding of No Significant Impact

A food contact notification (FCN No. 211), submitted by Eastman Chemical Company, to provide for the use of isophthalic acid as a monomer in the manufacture of ethylene terephthalate-isophthalate copolymers containing from 3 to 17 weight percent ethylene isophthalate units meeting the specifications as described in 21 CFR 177.1630 (f) - (j).

The Environmental Review Group has determined that allowing this notification to become effective will not significantly affect the quality of the human environment and therefore will not require the preparation of an environmental impact statement. This finding is based on information submitted by the notifier on January 2 and February 11, 2002.
